Geocaching

What in the world is Geocaching?

Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunt using a handheld GPS unit.  Using the longitude and latitude coordinates, you search for the "hide".  These hides are hidden by other players.  Using the www.geocaching.com web site, you can search for hides in any area you designate whether it is closest to your home or by ZIP code.  The web site keeps tack of your finds and hides.

I am fairly new to the sport and only have 108 finds and 6 hides.  There are some geocachers that have thousands of finds.  You will be surprised at the number of hides in your area.  This is a world-wide sport.  You can even add an add-on to Google Earth to show the hides in the area you are looking at.
