Genealogy and Old Time Radio

What a Combination

Genealogy and Old Time Radio are two of my hobbies.  Genealogy because I have always enjoyed hearing stories about my ancestors.  I have a cassette tape that my grandmother made in 1970.  Since my grandmother has gone to her reward, that tape is one of my prized possessions.  She tells about her childhood, growing up in Indian Territory in the late 1800's.  I began researching my family tree in 2002 and I now have over 28,000 documented names in my tree.  Visit my genealogy page by clicking the link above.

Old Time Radio - maybe it is not such a stretch linking Genealogy and Old Time Radio.  Both involve exploring the past.  I grew up in Ardmore, Oklahoma in the 1940's.  I remember sitting around the table-top radio with my Mom and Grandparents listening to shows such as Fibber McGee and Molly, The Shadow, The Lone Ranger, Jack Benny, Amos and Andy, Inner Sanctum and many more.  Of course, this was before television, computers and video games.  What fond memories it brings back when I listen to my collection of these shows.  I currently have 0ver 19,000 of these shows in my collection.  Visit my OTR page by clicking the link above.
